I love playing Warhammer 40k but anytime I have to play against a Blood Angels player I almost want to forfeit and not even show up for the game. This army list has way too many special rules and is allowed far too many allies to be beaten by any other good army list on any given day. My orks have had little to no success in beating blood angels with all the special rules they have.
Blood Angels Allies: This is something I really don't care for at all. I show up to play my friend in the 40K league and even he has to admit his Blood Angels are unfair with their allies. Grey Knights running around with an army list already packing a bad ass death company fast attack unit? How is that fair against any army let alone an ork army that is based on having at least some advantage in hand to hand combat & numbers. Mix that in with all his firepower and some special character(also an allied force) that allows him some sort of special attacks as some sort of assassin and the balance of power is seriously shifted. Space Marine Chaplains Unreal the amount of attacks these guys have. They're damn near unstoppable in the death company units which I don't know how to stop other than maybe getting lucky enough to hit them with ordinance weapons. They also have some options so that they're always either hitting or saving on a 3+ for the entire unit not just the chaplain. Unreal. This makes it impossible for the orks to take these guys down without serious numbers. Death Company or Allies Chaplains aside as I know they're supposed to be a badass and all, they really need to make a choice on one or the other(death company or certain allies) and limit it. Most everyone agrees that Blood Angels are over the top unbalanced when geared up right so god damn do something about it. I've stopped playing in leagues because of armies like these guys, necrons and feral orks. Who wants to play a game that favors selling the popular minis over a balanced system? Not I. You'll find me in the poker room instead of playing 40K for just that reason. I've tried numerous strategies with no success and I'm a pretty adaptive player when it comes to games. Gamesworkshop, you suck. -Jerry Odom December, 2005 |
