Fantastic Four DVD

I sat down and watched the Fantastic Four DVD this past week when it came out and I have to say its a great movie. This was kind of a suprise to me because I haven't really enjoyed many of the other Marvel movies that've come out. Yes, yes it has some minor film flubs and they had to change a few things from the comic book to the movie story but it had alot of positives and is watchable more than once.

Great Characters

My favorite character was by far the human torch Johnny Storm. He was funny and very charismatic in his bad ass care free attitude. His stunts and interactions with Ben Grimmm were great and they kept the movie from getting slow. Ben was in turn a great character with is Brooklyn attitude and funny lines. Sue Storm and Reed Richards lacked any real attraction other than the love story development and Sue's frustration towards Reed.(not to mention Jessica Alba is hot as hell) The Victor Von Doom character was well done as they did a good job in presenting Doom as a larger than everyone else character. He was pretty intimidating and dwarfed the members of the fantastic four individually as he should have.

Not too many effects

I hate it when movie makers go overboard with special effects too early and too often. They made us really wait to see the human torch go at it flying all over the place or The Thing really bashing stuff up. Moderate use of the fantastic fours through the movie proved entertaining but not too much action. Alot of movies rely too heavily on smash bam fantastic action scenes and it gets old and stretches out the movie. Good job on the fantastic four.
