Fire Les Miles?
LSU Football Coach only went 10-1
|
LSU successfully finished only the 3rd 10-1 finish for our football program since its existed yesterday in a nail-biting 19-17 defeat of Arkansas yesterday and you would think that our coach would be getting some praise. However listening to the post game radio show on the LSU Sports Radio Network around 50% of the callers were audaciously calling and complaining about the coaching abilities of our head coaching staff? As if a 10-1 finish to a season by a first year coaching staff isn't good for LSU fans? Are they completely insane or is it just me?
Because Chevron workers in Gonzales know more about playcalling than Jimbo Fisher:
It amazes me how these people are allowed to get on the air and spit out some of the most mindless insults towards LSU coaches. Seriously, why not screen calls just a little bit? You can hear the pain in Doug Moreau's voice whenever one of these idiots calls in and turns a deaf ear to the obvious facts...
- Les Miles is SEC Coach of the year - Well I suppose the SEC doesn't know how to point out a good coach either?
- LSU is 10-1 - I love the fact that people refute this blatantly obvious fact with "Nick Saban Left Him all those players". Because of course they can play and win all those games on talent alone? Or even better is when people declare that the SEC isn't as tough as it usually is? Because beating the slouches that are Auburn, Alabama and Florida should've been so much easier?
Despite these facts the callers still bantered on with..
- Les Miles Isn't Emotional Enough - Since when is losing your mind over every little thing required to be a great coach or motivate players?
- Les Miles and Fisher don't know how to call offensive plays - Because you are an expert on winning football? How many drops did our recievers have? The plays were called balanced and our guys just struggled. They're kids, get over it.

LSU Fans Are Idiots:
I suppose I really shouldn't be so suprised. The same people who are calling for the second coming of Nick Saban booed the man when we lost that heartbreaker last year to Iowa. As if its his fault that 1 play was blown that cost us the game? They're college kids people and they make mistakes despite the best efforts of the coaches. Its not as if the coaches have them hooked up to a playstation 2 and everything goes as planned. They've also forgotten that last year offensive execution was our big fall out as well? Whatever. I wouldn't call myself an analyst or even a knowledgable football fan but I know that crawfish farmers don't know shit about football coaching in comparison to LSU's coaching staff.
Congratulations Les Miles and your 2005 LSU Tiger football team. I'm looking forward to the last 2 knock out games of the season and next year.
Update November 2006
Yes unfortunately a good number of LSU fans are still too stupid to realize you don't win them all. After the Tigers struggled some early with 2 big road losses LSU fans were calling into the LSU radio show and chattering about firing coach again. Then the Tigers win out for the second 10 win season in a row for the first time in history. Not to mention we've only won 10 games, 4 times in school history. Firing Les Miles would be the same as dressing your kids in Auburn gear, you just don't do something that stupid.
2010 LSU Fans Haven't Gotten Any Better
My goodness LSU fans have got to be the worst and have no concept of being thankful for what you have. After a 2009 where things didn't go our way 2010 started off not pretty in the offense. We're still winning against
ranked teams and they're calling for coach Miles to be fired? The guy is currently 6-0 and people are still talking about firing this guy? He's the most winning coach we've ever had
and they want to fire him? It's ridiculous. I even have people emailing me trying to debate me on why we should fire Miles. They're writing me long letters pointing out this and that talking
badly about coach Miles. Until coach actually loses a game how can you say anything?
By the way had we had a 8-5 season in the early 1990's we'd be dancing in the streets. Get back to reality LSU fans. Sometimes with injuries and suprise losses of players like Ryan Perrilloux you drop a game or
two you should win.
On the subject of crazy calls I can remember LSU fans complaining about coaches not going for it or taking risks. I can remember them banging on Saban for it. You get a guy with titanium nuts like Miles and
you hate him when it get a little wild. It's not a f'n video game LSU fans, it's real life so you can't pause and make the perfect call every time. Personally I love Miles and hope he stays around for year to
come. Gary Crowton on the other hand....
