We had a great time down in Gainesville, Florida for this years LSU vs.
Florida football game.(except for the LSU Tigers losing) Our first day down
there a group of guys showed up at our RV tailgating spot interested in
whether or not we were going to ESPN's College Gameday. Of course we
were going so they revealed themselves as HBO employees working on a HBO
Real Sports show on the popularity of College Gameday. They asked if
they could come back with cameras. What?!
LSU Tailgating on Video That evening we were partying really hard with other LSU fans when the HBO crew came back with alot of cameras. They taped us partying and celebrating the game. HBO had sent out a "question" guy as I called him who asked alot of questions on Gameday and why we thought it made the game better. All of my drunk and over excited friends probably never gave a good answer. I had a good answer but never got a chance to get it in with 30 other people jumping around. My answer: Because College Gameday takes a regional game and brings it more in front of the national audience. Teams and fans feel more excitement over the prospect of winning or losing with all the attention. Wake Up Guys - Thanks HBO Real Sports! Before they left the night before they asked if they could come back and video tape us painting ourselves and building our banner in the morning for the College Gameday and football game. Pretty fun thing as they showed up, shot a little video of us waking up and coming out of our RV. It was funny later on. When we showed up and dropped off our LSU painted 3 friends they Real Sports guy noticed us showing up and actually made us get back into our car and get back out so they could video us in the act of arriving at College Gameday. They stayed in contact and tapped my friends putting up our banner for Lee Corso. "Corso Sent Me A Dirty Email" It didn't stay up long before the Gameday crew made us take it down but it was funny. So supposedly some of us may end up on HBO Real Sports on October 31, 2006. Might be funny! Jerry Odom October 11, 2006 The 2006 LSU vs. Florida Game |
