I picked up a panasonic PV-GS35



I've got to say I'm really pleased with the panasonic digital camcorder I picked up over the weekends. Last week I decided I wanted to get into vlogging so I started looking into the camcorders again. I previously wrote another article on the research I was doing for a camera before I figured out what I wanted was really called a camcorder by everyone else. So looking around Google I came upon Camcorderinfo who had a listed of top rated camcorders for the year. The best affordable camcorders were part of the panasonic PV-GS family of cameras.

Get the GS35 and not the GS19

If you're going to get one of these definitely spring for the GS35. They retail for $150 more but you can actually pick them up for about the same price as the more common GS19 if you're cautious. I picked mine up at BestBuy who'd already marked it down to $450. In addition they marked it off another $50 because someone had returned the camera and there was a $50 mail in rebate.
Louisiana gave me incentive in the sales free tax weekend as well. But point is that some research will get you a bells and whistles camcorder that can transfer your clips via firewire.(not available on the GS19 model)

Easy to use Camcorder

The camera had bad reviews for its usability due to the joystick used to navigate around the menues. I found the joystick quite intuitive and very easy to use. The instructions are an easy 70 page read and made me into a decent camcorder user from a complete novice in only an hour.(this is the first camcorder I've ever owned) The remote control is excellent and really adds to the fun factor using this thing. I set up the camera on a camcorder stand and was taping myself talking on the couch absolutely satisfied with what I could do using the remote.(the remote is only available with the the GS35)

I have to get the firewire setup for my machine but when I do look to see me posting video clips of myself talking about things as well as typing them in like I always do. Its an exciting new concept and I feel fortunate that I found a great easily used camcorder like the Panasonic PV-GS35 camcorder. I suggest you check it out if you're interested in a camcorder.
