Play Online Poker |
Well I started finally started playing poker online lastnight at the
great poker site called pokerstars.(Play
poker online) I enjoyed it alot but it didn't exactly go as I expected.
After 4 hours of play I was about even from where I started. When I go play at
casinos I usually do fairly well all the time but I struggled a little here. The
game is a bit different and the pace is extremely fast. Lets not forget that you
also can't see who you're playing against so its a tad tough to categorize your
players. I tightened up a bit and pumped up the aggressiveness and I figure
that'll help me even out my field until I get a better feel for the play there. Setting up a Neteller account: In order to play online you have to have money unless you want to play for free chips which is boring. Anyones 12 year old can get on an account and play for free chips so that isn't a whole lot of poker fun. As Stu Unger said: "See, in my world - the world of high-stakes gin and poker - we play for cold, hard cash. It's all business, pure and simple. Anyone who thinks cardplaying is a 'game' - I'll show you a loser. Money... M-O-N-E-Y. That's how you measure success. One dollar at a time. One chip at a time. That's how you keep score." I love that quote and after you've been playing a while its very true. You have to be challenged to lose something in order to play your best and win. Anyway.....Due to how VISA, Mastercard, etc handle online gaming sites you have to set up these accounts in order to fund your poker play.(credit cards are denied) So after about a week or two of back and forth verifications I get the account and start. Neteller is friendly, easy and the support was pretty bang on. I definitely suggest using them if you want to play. Online Banking at Neteller is Jerry Odom endorsed. ;) Advantages of playing poker online: This all worked out exactly as I predicted. There is no smoking in playing online poker, no slot machines in online poker, no crazy drunk people are in your face and you're not in some dirty casino 30 minutes from your house. You are playing poker when you feel like it and most importantly you're playing poker comfortably. Will I ever go play poker at the casinos again? Probably, its ok every now and then but you're more likely to find me at my house, watching some television, kicked back and looking at some hands. Its just so much better that way. Thank God for the Internet and all the little perks that go with it! |
