Happy 4th of July!

Today we celebrate the great Americans who brought this country from the status of a British colony into the next great country and civilization to take its place on Earth. Its one of my favorite celebratory holidays because of all the risks and sacrifices that our Forefathers had to take for the sake of securing the society that we live in today. I've read alot of history books and biographies on people such as Washington, Franklin, Lafayette and Hamilton who brought this country forward and what they represented. I love what they represented: Truth, Justice and the American way of life.

NASA Launched Discovery

The USA returned to space again with the launch of our shuttle on July 4th. Thats great and I'm happy about the launch since I feel that our future in space is very important. I hope that our people and government continue to research better ways to put people and technology in space so that we may move to the moon and beyond.

Superman Returns

I wasn't really pleased to hear that Superman no longer stands for the American way in the newest installment of the Superman movies. I don't understand why people from Hollywood like to act like being an American and having pride in it is such a bad thing? Pride in who we are is what made this country great and what most threatens us is that we don't enforce our values with the tenacity our ancestors had. Regardless of what others approve of we should still take pride in what we think is important.

North Korea Won't Do Anything

I don't understand the way the media likes to spin developments with the trouble making North Korea who tested a ICBM on July 4th. People don't want this little country to acquire nuclear capabilities and they like to throw around the idea of them tossing a nuclear missile into the USA or Japan. Why would they do this? North Korea is just interested in wrenching concessions and relief of sanctions from the USA and other countries. They're starving, they need the help and have no other cards to play without changing their way of life. But still our media likes to use the scare tactic that we would be hit by these people if they had such capability. This won't happen! They're leaders know that such attack would end their government and thats exactly what they're trying to protect. It seems to me like spin to gain further support for the ultra-expensive missile shield thats been in development. Its a shame that we have to have all this drama for people to get behind the idea of a missile shield in the case that a real threat such as a rogue launch from some radical group took place.
