A great night of quality free UFC fights on Spike TV. They've finally
acquired a stable of fighters good enough to hold up regular great fights
for free while having good PPV action. Its really an exciting time.
Tito Ortiz vs. Ken Shamrock Old Shamrock finally got put out of his misery fighting Tito for the last time. He basically went out there and layed down for Ortiz which to me is gutless. No fire or intensity at all like in the past, a shadow of himself. They did however bury the hatchet at least for the cameras. I'll give it to both of them that they grew up together a little bit through all this bull. Seems like when Shamrock grew up he lost his fire lets hope the same doesn't happen to Tito. Kendall Grove vs. Chris Price Kendall is going to be a huge success as a fighter. He put away newcomer Price very easily though Price appeared to be a very tough guy. I think had Kendall fought the same guy back when he won TUF it would've been a quality match. He looks stronger, faster and more sure of himself. Ed Herman vs. Jason Macdonald Ed Herman got sent to school by Jason Macdonald who apparently didn't make the cut for TUF. Just more proof that TUF sows in the past were basically rigged in the cast so that a few quality fighters could beat not so quality guys instead of actually putting up the *top* fighters. Herman appeared to not have improved much since TUF. My money is on Macdonald vs Grove next. Matt Hamill vs. Seth Petruzelli Hamill wins a sloppy fight against Petruzelli. Appears as if he hasn't been listening to Tito's advice in training and hasn't improved since TUF. He'd better learn to use his hands or he'll get put away against the first quality fighter he meets. All in all a good fight card. Good action especially for free. Jerry Odom - October 12, 2006 |
